Every relationship handles money differently. There are many different factors and options when figuring out the best way. Who handles the bills, who does the shopping, who follows the budget better? Perhaps two checking account would be wiser. I know that's how my parents roll. Do you need to have two yeses before you make a larger purchase? What is that magic number, more than 20, more than 50? Holly we know, does not have to ask herself such questions. Just Kidding (not really).
So here's the dish, I went and opened a checking/savings account at Chase its 3 minutes from my house, you don't even have to go through a stop light to bet there. Danny is having a portion of OUR check deposited into this account every two weeks. All for me, yippee. Its hard to articulate how I feel.

Its like I'm 16 again and this time I want to prove to myself how responsible (not one of my MO's) I can be. I feel proud of myself. I am committed to living within this budget. Its for groceries, gas, birthday presents, and such. So whatever is left is for pampering lil'ol me.
Some things I may be saving for but, may not actually pull the trigger on:
-facial products $15
-Nike workout gear $100
-photos $200ish
-turf grass ???
Who's kidding who its been 10 years Danny and I hate lawn care, our front yard is pebble rocks and low maintenance trees. perfect.
Our back yard is a blank slate of dirt. To put grass means we need a sprinkler system otherwise the grass would be DOA. Which brings me to turf, I need to do some objective research and find out how long it lasts. So, we'll see.

Hi kiran!:)
Oh the budget whoes.. Bill and I have yet to figure it out but i would say we are getting much better:) Mr. Dave Ramsey helped us alot!:) So the reason why I spoke up is my sis in AZ was thinking of doing turf but then decided against it for many reasons. I think you should embrace the dirt. Az has the neetest landscape and I would just keep it true to the environment. Most of my sisters backyeard is sand! The kids LOVE it but it is kinda dirty. Anywho I just thought I would pipe in:)! Hope your well!
Seed is probably cheeper. Mike can help with a sprinkler system. As long as you water it you will have it for the winter and then in the summer you can just let it go dormant or you can plant winter grass.I think it only took three weeks to grow.
Well good thing we know where the cheep store is. I hear ya on that one. We get a little cushion and we go crazy because we have been in a drought so long. You always have a garage sale buddy if you want one.
I heart fiddy.
